Andrzej Bartosiewicz

CISO #Poland CEO

PhD in computer science, 27 years of professional experience in the IT industry, expert in cyber security in the area of IT and industrial automation systems – ICS. A graduate in computer science from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, he obtained his PhD in computer science from the Warsaw University of Technology in 2008. He is a member of the Scientific Council of the Research Centre “Cyber Security” at the Warsaw University of Technology and a founder of the association “CISO #Poland”. Professional experience in cyber security and information security management for major Polish companies and global concerns: CISO at multinational Thales, Director of Corporate Security Department (CISO) at Netia Group, Director of Security and Business Continuity Department (CISO) at Polska Grupa Energetyczna and CISO at KOMBUD Group. Served as CEO of the Californian cyber security technology start-up, Yonita Inc. He managed the “.PL” domain for 9 years as Director of the Domain Department at NASK. He started his career at COMARCH, which he left as Executive Director and Director of the ERP Systems Centre. He led numerous international projects in the area of cyber security for the European Commission in the Balkans and represented the Polish Government at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Geneva. For 4 years he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the international non-profit organisation CENTR. He holds security certifications and is a member of many industry organisations.

Adam Haertle

Creator and editor-in-chief of ZaufanaTrzeciaStrona.pl

Security expert with twenty years of experience, as well as a speaker, trainer and lecturer. Winner of the prestigious Digital Shapers 2021 award from Forbes and Business Insider magazines. Every year, he conducts over 150 lectures for open and closed groups in Poland and abroad, devoted to the issues of online security, threats related to the use of electronic banking, privacy and information protection in the enterprise. He has successfully trained both the management boards of the largest Polish enterprises and employees of hundreds of companies and institutions. In his presentations, in a simple, accessible language and using real examples, he describes the real threats lurking for companies and users. He is also the creator and editor-in-chief of the website ZaufanaTrzeciaStrona.pl, one of the most popular Polish-language websites devoted to information security. Before starting his own company, he worked as a security consultant at Deloitte and then as a CISO at UPC (part of Liberty Global), where for 12 years he was responsible for all issues related to information protection in the region of Central and Eastern Europe. Since 2004, he regularly appears at all major security conferences in Poland, where he receives the highest marks in the surveys of participants. Lecturer of postgraduate studies in the field of security management at the Warsaw School of Economics and Kozminski University. Organizer of one of the largest Polish security conferences – Oh My H@ck.

Robert Kośla

Lt. Col. res. m.d. in cybernetics, Chairman of the Council of the Cybersecurity Foundation

Graduate of the Cybernetics Department of the Military University of Technology in Warsaw. Since 1994 in the Cipher Bureau of the State Protection Office, inspector in the team developing Polish cryptographic systems for the protection of classified information. From 1998 to 2002 – deputy director of the Communications Security and Informatics Bureau of the State Protection Office – among other things, responsible for the NATO accession process and the construction of a system of testing and certification of cryptographic and electromagnetic protection measures. 2002-2006 – deputy director of the ICT Security Department of the Internal Security Agency, among other things, responsible for the accession process to the European Union. 2006-2008 – delegated to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration to direct the construction of the Schengen Information System and the Visa Information System – the completion of the first phase of the project enabled Poland’s entry into the Schengen area in December 2007. 1998-2008 – representative of Poland in NATO’s ICT Security Sub-Committee – SC/4 INFOSEC/Information Assurance Sub-Committee.

2008-2018 – Director of the National Security and Defence Sector for the Central and Eastern Europe Region at Microsoft.

2018-2021 – Director of the Cyber Security Department of the Ministry of Digitisation and then Director of the Cyber Security Department in the Prime Minister’s Office.

From 2022 – EMEA Chief Architect CYBER in the Global Engineering and Architecture Group – EAG Security team at Microsoft.

Lecturer on Cyber Resilience in MBA and DBA programmes at the Naval Academy, MBA programme at the Military University of Technology, MBA programme at the Warsaw University of Technology. Member of the Advisory Board of the Maritime Cyber Security Center – think tank of the Naval Academy.  Commenced PhD on ‘Hybrid Security in Response to Hybrid Threats’ at the Faculty of Command and Naval Operations at the Naval Academy.

Mirosław Maj

Founder and President of the Cybersecurity Foundation, Vice-president of ComCERT SA

In 2017-2018 he was an advisor to the Minister of National Defense. Previously associated with NASK, where he managed the CERT Polska team. He was a member of the permanent team for cybersecurity of the Republic of Poland appointed by the head of the BBN, he participated in the creation of the Act on the National Cybersecurity System. He gives lectures on ICT security at the Warsaw University of Technology, Jagiellonian University, PwB, PJWSTK and Warsaw School of Economics. As part of the Foundation, he participates in many projects promoting knowledge about cybersecurity. He is the originator and initiator of the establishment of the Polish Civic Cyber Defense as a voluntary organization supporting the cybersecurity system of the Republic of Poland. He is a co-founder of an international foundation – Open CSIRT Foundation, which develops maturity models of incident response teams.

Since 2012, he has been coordinating the first cybersecurity exercises in Poland – Cyber-EXE™ Polska, carried out in the most important sectors of the economy. He participated in building new CERTs in Poland and abroad. He coordinated the NATO CLOSER project, thanks to which CERTs were established in Georgia, Moldova, Armenia and Azerbaijan. He co-organizes the cooperation of European CERTs under the Trusted Introducer and GEANT TF-CSIRT initiative and conducts the accreditation and certification processes of these teams. He works closely with the European agency ENISA, being a member of thematic working groups and co-author of many studies published by the Agency.

For several years he has been a speaker at national and international conferences on cyber security. He is the originator and organizer of the Security Case Study conference series. He is also the originator and co-author of the first Polish cybersecurity podcast – “Cyber, Cyber…”

Tomasz Matuła

Information and Technology Executive, Business & ICT Advisor

ICT and telco market expert and manager with over 26 years of business practice. The key areas of his work include business and IT transformation, implementation of advanced ICT solutions, cybersecurity, ICT services.

Responded to and developed areas in ABB, PTK Centertel, Telekomunikacja Polska and Orange Polska. Since 2018, he has been working as a trusted advisor with international and Polish companies. Program Director of the CIONET Security Excellence Program.

A graduate of the Silesian University of Technology. In 2002, he obtained the IFG International Diploma in Management (MBA) from the French Institute of Management, in 2009 he graduated from the Advanced Management Program IESE Business School of the University of Navarra.

He won the title of CIO of the Year in 2010. In 2016, he was awarded the title of Digital Leader of the Year POLAND. In 2017, he was a finalist of the European CIO of the Year.

Krzysztof Szczypiorski,

Warsaw University of Technology

ICT specialist specializing in information protection. A graduate of the University of California in Berkeley (USA), the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Warsaw University of Technology (WUT), where he currently works as a university professor and head of the Cybersecurity Department at the Institute of Telecommunications at the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology. Head of the Research Center POB Cybersecurity and Data Analysis at Warsaw University of Technology. Research and Development Director at Cryptomage S.A. He deals with the issues of security in ICT networks, the philosophy of observing phenomena, including anomalies, and the psychology of motivation.

Zuzanna Wieczorek

Master of Science in Electronics and Telecommunication

Passionate engineer with over 17y of experience in the field of industrial networks and cybersecurity.

I walked very different paths through Industrial Data Communication World – from technical support, network and cybersecurity architecture design, deployment and configuration of Ethernet, MPLS-TP and ICS cybersecurity tools, trainings, business development  and international cooperation with leading technology vendors up to managing engineering teams.

Constantly looking for leading trends and problems that needs to be solved, which set the direction for the future. For several years, together with the CyberSecurity Team Tekniska, I am discussing, educating, getting to know and analyzing topics and issues related to the risks arising from cyber threats and how to mitigate them in ICS environment.

Initiator of the CyberTek Conference –  an event dedicated  for  building strong community of specialists and place to be to exchange experience in IT and OT/ICS cybersecurity and network engineering fields.

Author of publications on industrial network engineering, speaker at conferences dedicated to industries related to critical infrastructure.

Łukasz Wojewoda

Director of the Cybersecurity Department of Ministry of Digitization

A graduate of the Military University of Technology in Warsaw on the field of Electronics and Telecommunications and the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in the field of Cybersecurity. An officer with many years of experience in the field of cybersecurity, communications and IT, in particular in organizing and conducting ICT security incident handling processes and ICT systems security tests. He actively participated in the design and implementation of ICT systems to ensure the required level of cyber security as well as in organizing and conducting cyber threat intelligence (CTI). He co-created and managed the Security Operation Center (SOC) in the Military Counterintelligence Service. Representing the Ministry of National Defense, he co-created the National Cybersecurity System. It has, among others Certified by GIAC Information Security Professional (GISP) and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
