RAJ SAMANI

Chief Technical Officer for Intel Security EMEA

Raj Samani is an active member of the information security industry through his involvement with numerous initiatives to improve the awareness and application of security in business and society. He is currently serving as the vice-president and chief technology officer for Intel Security, EMEA, having previously worked as chief information security officer for a large public sector organization in the UK. He was recently inducted into the Infosecurity Europe Hall of Fame (2012). Samani has worked across numerous public sector organizations in many cybersecurity and research-orientated working groups across Europe, including the Midata Interoperability Board, as well as representing DIGITALEUROPE on the Smart Grids Reference Group, which was established by the European Commission in support of the Smart Grid Mandate. He is the author of the recently released Syngress book, Applied Cyber Security and the Smart Grid. In addition, Samani is currently the Cloud Security Alliance’s strategic advisor for EMEA, having previously served as the vice president for communications in the ISSA UK Chapter, where he presided over the award of Chapter Communications Programme of the Year 2008 and 2009. He is also on the advisory council for the Infosecurity Europe show, Infosecurity Magazine, an expert on both searchsecurity.co.uk and the Infosec portal, and regular columnist for Computer Weekly. He has had numerous security papers published and appeared on television (ITV and More4) commenting on computer security issues. He has also provided assistance in the 2006 RSA Wireless Security Survey and part of the consultation committee for the RIPA Bill (Part 3). Melanie Rieback is the CEO/Co-founder of Radically Open Security. She is also a former Asst. Prof. of Computer Science at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam who performed RFID security research (RFID Virus and RFID Guardian), that got worldwide press coverage, and won several awards (VU Mediakomeet, ISOC Award finalist, NWO I/O award, IEEE Percom Best Paper, USENIX Lisa Best Paper). Melanie also worked as a Sr. Engineering Manager on XenClient at Citrix, where she led the Citrix Vancouver office. She was also a Sr. Managing Consultant in the Cyber Crime Expertise and Response Team (CCERT) at ING Bank, where she set up the CCERT Analysis Lab and was the lead technical project manager of the ING Core Threat Intelligence Systems. For fun, she founded the Dutch Girl Geek Dinner in 2008. Melanie was also named 2010 ICT Professional of the Year (Finalist) by WomeninIT, and one of the “400 most successful women in the Netherlands” by Viva Magazine (Viva400) in 2010.

His professional career until recently has been linked with security in the banking sector, where he was responsible for the construction, development and maintenance of IT security monitoring center. Since January 2013 he works at Orange Poland as the head of the Security Incident Handling Department, then head of Security Operations Department. The editor of the bimonthly trade magazine “Zabezpieczenia” (“Security Provisions”).

Juan Santesmases has an extensive experience in the ICT world, especially in the fields of Cloud Computing, security, Mobile Devices and SaaS. During his career, Juan has held different management positions, among others COO of Future Space between 1999 and 2003, and CEO of Secuware between 2003 and 2006. Since that date, and until 2009, he stayed in Mobile Security Software Ltd., of which he was also one of the founders. During 2005 until the December 2014, he was the CEO and owner of Zitralia. From January 2015, Juan Santesmases is the Vice President Product Management & Business Development at Panda Security, after other ICT companies like Cloud Personality or Baquia, of which at the present day he remains CEO.

Lawyer, state administration official, Border Guard general, Border Guard Chief in 1997–2001 Police Chief in 2005–2007. Graduated in legal studies at the Warsaw Theological Academy (presently Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw). After graduation worked as lawyer in the Szczecin diocesan curia. In the eighties ha was active in the democratic opposition, was counselor to Marian Jurczyk. Since 1993 was employed at the Border Guard, in 1993-1996 was its Szczecin branch chief, I 1996-1997 was the country’s Guard chief’s deput, and in 1997-2001 the chief of the Border Guard. After he was dismissed, he worked as an adviser at the  Supreme Audit Office (2202-2005). On November 3rd, 2005 he was nominated to the position of the Police Chief. He retired on February 9th, 2007. Then, since July 10th 2007 he worked as Orlen Ochrona Ltd CEO. In 2008 returned to the Supreme Audit Office where he worked as it Lublin Branch director. Presently he works as the Internal Security Department’s Director in this organisation.

Oğuz Yılmaz is the CTO of Labris Networks, the Cyber Warfare Company. For the last 12 years, during his career within Labris Networks, he lead biggest network security team in Turkiye and actively developed several network security products in UTM and DDOS Mitigation domains. He achieved first Common Criteria EAL4+ certification in Turkey and Labris has become one of 12 CC EAL4+ certified perimeter security product in the world. Having more than 3000 enterprise customer, Labris has added security incident handling expertise with HARPP DDOS CERT and provided this experience with Harpp DDOS Mitigation product line as CERT service to distinguished customers and CERT channel partners in EMEA region. He currently works as CTO of Labris Networks and manages product development, research activities and university relations. The Diet appointed Wojciech Wiewiórowski the Inspector General for the Protection of Personal Data, and on August 4th, 2010 he started his four-year term of office.

Wojciech Wiewiórowski was awarded the academic degree of Doctor in constitutional law. Since 2006 he has been working for public administration. He was among others adviser in the field of e-government and information society for the Minister of Interior and Administration, as well as Vice-president of the Regulatory Commission of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church. In 2008 he took over the post of the Director of the Informatisation Department at the Ministry of Interior and Administration. He also represented Poland in committee on Interoperability Solutions for European Public Administrations (the ISA Committee) assisting the European Commission.

In 2010 he was appointed the member of the Archives Council to the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. He is a member of the Polish Association for European Law. He is the author of numerous studies, publications and lectures in the field of personal data protection, IT law, e-government and legal informatics.

His areas of scientific activity include first of all Polish and European IT law, processing and security of information, legal information retrieval systems, informatisation of public administration, electronic signature and application of semantic web and legal ontologies in legal information processing.

Adolfo Hernández received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. With over 10 years of professional experience in the management of technological risks and cybersecurity in diverse sectors such as defense, aerospace, banking and insurance sector, he is also a regular speaker at various master degrees in business schools, universities and industry events, like TEDx.

He is also author of numerous publications related to cybersecurity, cyberdefense and the IT compliance. He combines his professional activity as cybersecurity advisor in Eleven Paths, a Telefonica company specialized in the development of innovative internet security products, with the involvement in several industry initiatives, being director and cofounder of THIBER, the cybersecurity think tank, board member of (ISC)2 Spain Chapter and founder member of the Cybersecurity Research Center. In addition, he holds several infosec certifications including CISSP, CISA, CISM and CDPP.

Leader in the area of the IT Security  Testing. From an early age he is interested in and explores the ins and outs of computer security and cryptography. He graduated in the computer science at the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Sciences (MiNI) at the Warsaw University of Technology. He remained on the Faculty, currently leads the laboratories in the subjects “Mobile Applications: Android” and “The Security of Computer Systems.” In addition, the co-teaches the subject  “Network Audit  and Secure Software”, carried within the postgraduate studies “Information Security in the Networks and Communication Systems: Design and Security Audits” at the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology of the Warsaw University of Technology. Actively engages in the scientific circle of computer scientists at the MINI faculty, in addition he participates in the cryptographic seminar, he initiated and or several years he participates in the cybersecurity seminar. During the two editions of the joint cybersecurity conference (“Cybersecurity – knowledge-practice” and “Cybersecurity – how much the Internet knows about you”) he presented the issues related to the password security and pinpointing individuals using widely accessible means.

Miroslaw Maj has more than 15 years of experience in IT and the IT security sector. For almost 10 years he has lead the CERT Polska team – the first Polish incident handling team which plays the role of national level team. In 2010 he founded the Cybersecurity Foundation and he became its first director. Since September 2010 he has become the expert on the CIIP of the Polish Government Center for Security. In 2011 he also became a co-founder of the first Polish independent CERT – ComCERT.PL. He is the author of papers on security statistics and other subjects from the security area. He is involved in international cooperation between CSIRT teams as a member of the Trusted Introducer team as well as in formal European projects related to security issues (standards, statistics, information sharing, fighting with an illegal content, building security awareness and

establishing new CSIRT teams). He is the co-author of many ENISA publications including CERT exercises and papers on improving the CERT coordination. Miroslaw Maj organized two editions of the national level cyber exercises in Poland – Cyber-EXE Polska – for critical infrastructure and banking sectors. He has presented his works at many international conferences including a number of presentations at the FIRST conferences.

Tomasz Chlebowski, CEO of ComCERT, a company supporting its Customers in the situations of IT threaths and security incidents.
